Ally McDonald fired a 3-under 69 on Saturday to hang on to a one-shot lead at the LPGA Drive On Championship in Greensboro, Ga.

McDonald combatted bogeys at Nos. 1 and 17 with five birdies at Reynolds Lake Oconee's Great Waters Course, leaving her at 13-under 203. She holds the narrow lead over The Philippines' Bianca Pagdanganan, who carded a 69 in the third round.

First-round co-leader Danielle Kang shot a second consecutive 70 on Saturday and stands alone in third place at 11 under. Spain's Carlota Ciganda (third-round 68) sits in fourth place at 10 under, and Australia's Katherine Kirk (70) rounds out the top five at 9 under.

"I'm very frustrated today, but there was a lot of up and downs," said Kang, who carded six birdies in her round, including one on 18, but also had two bogeys and a double at No. 16. "But I think I handled the curve balls pretty well. Good to finish on a birdie."

Kang is already a two-time champ in 2020 with wins at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, in July.

McDonald, in her fifth year on tour, led by one shot after the second round and has never before led an LPGA event after three rounds. The Mississippi State alumna is looking for her first tour victory -- and if she gets it this week, it would happen Sunday on her 28th birthday.

A trio of players are tied for sixth place at 8 under and within striking distance of McDonald: Americans Mina Harigae (68) and Brittany Altomare (70) and Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn (72).

Filling out the top 10 are Americans Megan Khang (68) and Angel Yin (70), New Zealand's Lydia Ko (68) and Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg (72).

World No. 10 Lexi Thompson shot 68 to move to a tie for 30th at 3 under, and No. 9 Minjee Lee of Australia shot 75 and stands tied for 61st at 2 over.
