LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Nov. 29 (PIA) - The local government unit (LGU) of Pangasinan was proclaimed as the winner of the Employer of the Year Award 2020 by London-based accreditation body Investors in People (IiP).
The provincial government of Pangasinan together with seven other organizations from around the world, namely: Action for Children, Ashmere Derbyshire, Avertec Ltd, Comhaltas in Britain, JTL, Supply Chain Coordination Limited and Unibersidad de Zamboanga were named as finalists.
Eventually the LGU-Pangasinan won the nod of the judges who based their assessments on the right principles and practices applied by the organization, a report from the Provincial Information Office (PIO) said.
IiP is an accreditation body based in London that assesses the leadership and management culture and practices of an organization.
It can be recalled that LGU-Pangasinan first made it to the Top 20 last June 12, 2020 and then to the Top 10 this September.
Janette Asis, provincial human resource management officer, said the rigid process in attaining the award includes the preparation of necessary requirements for its application for the accreditation to the assessment process conducted by the IiP.
Asis said the award means that the provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Amado Espino III, has the right principles and practices in placed with everyone (from the highest post down to the lowest rank) committed with the journey and playing their part to make work better for one another.
"The remarkable global achievement represents a standard for excellence of the provincial government in people management, from leading the employees towards the achievement of common goal to supporting and improving them towards their personal and professional growth," Asis added.
