NEW DELHI, India: The Starlink Internet Services of Elon Musk's SpaceX aerospace company has been told by the Indian government to comply with the country's regulatory framework before offering its satellite-based internet services to customers in India.

The Indian Communications Ministry has said that because Starlink does not hold a license, the public is advised to not subscribe to its advertised services.

The company has not immediately commented.

According to media reports, SpaceX has been accepting preorders for the beta version of the service for a refundable deposit of 7,400 rupees ($99).
